The Amaltari Jeep Safari route covers a variety of terrains and biodiversity hotspots within the western section of Chitwan National Park, including:

  • Rani Community Forest: Great for early sightings of spotted deer and langurs.
  • Gaidakot Grasslands: Prime location for one-horned rhinoceroses and wild boars.
  • Banka Tal: A peaceful lake area home to aquatic birds, crocodiles, and marsh mugger.
  • Kali Nadi Riverbanks: Frequent spot for gharials and sometimes Bengal tigers on the prowl.
  • Observation Towers: Safely observe wildlife in open meadows and watering holes.

What to Expect

  • Sightings of one-horned rhinoceroses, deer, wild boar, sloth bears, and occasionally Bengal tigers or leopards.
  • Over 500 species of birds including peacocks, hornbills, kingfishers, and crested serpent eagles.
  • Chance encounters with crocodiles, jungle cats, and reptiles sunning along riverbanks.

Guidelines to Follow

  • Always follow your guide’s instructions strictly.
  • Remain seated and avoid loud noises or sudden movements.
  • Do not feed animals or throw food into the jungle.
  • Photography is allowed, but avoid using flash near animals.
  • Smoking and drinking alcohol during the safari is prohibited.
